How Much Are You Paying to Ship Air?
Carriers bill whichever is higher: the parcel's real weight or its dimensional (DIM) weight, which is box volume ÷ a divisor. Upload past shipments or use our sample to see how often you pay for air, and how much it adds up to.
Check your carrier contract. A lower divisor means more parcels get billed on volume.
Where the DIM Charges Come From
Your biggest offender is the 50 × 40 × 30 cm box, used for 17% of parcels.
| Box size (cm) | Share of parcels | Billed on DIM |
|---|---|---|
| 50 × 40 × 30 | 17% | 100% |
| 60 × 40 × 40 | 8% | 100% |
| 40 × 30 × 20 | 29% | 86% |
| 30 × 20 × 15 | 25% | 67% |
| 25 × 20 × 10 | 21% | 40% |
Unlock average actual vs. billable weight and the annual DIM cost for every box size, plus a CSV you can take to your carrier or packaging supplier.
Stop paying for air on every parcel.
This is a one-off snapshot. A free Control Hub account tracks which boxes your packers actually use and how full they are, every day. When you're ready, the paid plan adds the full TCS-i engine, which picks the tightest box at scan-time so fewer parcels get billed on DIM.
